Monvi

About the ship

The Monvi Ship was built at the shipyard of SPLIT in 1954, under the designation PO 57, for the needs of the Yugoslav Navy. A very well-built and spacious, this ship was specialized in transporting torpedoes. After 20 years of military service, the ship was deregistered and sold. Jadran-turist, the new owner, called the ship MONVI, provided only the necessary equipment to carry out one-day excursions, and as such the ship remained in their possession until 1989.

In the same year, for the first time, the ship came into private ownership by the GRUBIŠA family. By then, the ship has been at berth for some time and in a very bad condition, but we had a clear vision of what we wanted. The boat got a new look, new safety measures, more places for passengers, a generally serviced facility and ultimately a new crew and marketing.

From 2002 to 2004 we did a great reconstruction of the hull and replaced the engine. The main deck received tables for serving lunch, a bar that is open all day, 4 toilets, a kitchen, 2 entrances on the sides of the ship for boarding of passengers, and a reception for registering guests on excursion at the back of the ship.

On the first deck there are tables with a tendon protecting from the high heat and the possibility of side protection (transparent tendon) from wind and rain, a command bridge, a space for life-saving appliances. The handgrips and the sides of the ship are high enough to make the passengers and especially children safer during sailing. Today MONVI is a beautiful and safe ship with a rich history, where thousands of our clients have spent unforgettable moments over the last 25 years.
